My passion for coaching students with ADHD and executive functioning issues is deeply rooted in my recognition of the unique challenges they face in a world often not structured for their needs. My coaching style, characterized by care and curiosity, aims to understand each student’s interests and difficulties to build on their strengths and address their challenges effectively. A notable success story from my coaching experience involves a 6th grader who initially struggled with maintaining household chores and homework. Our sessions focused on developing and incorporating new habits into their routine, leading to significant improvements reported by their parents. In my sessions, I prioritize checking in with students to understand their current state, then focus on learning or refining habits. I keep students engaged online by varying our routines and occasionally focusing on relationship-building. Communication with parents is vital; I ensure open channels for feedback and updates to maximize the coaching experience. I am committed to enhancing my knowledge and skills through further training to better support my students.

  • Reading – Reading was my first gateway to experiencing and understanding the wider world, and I still turn to novels to deepen my curiosity, my empathy, and my own sense of self.
  • Knitting – I began knitting right around the beginning of COVID-19 and have pursued it relentlessly since! It is my favorite way to express my creativity and give to my loved ones.
  • Hiking – I have always loved the natural world, and hiking is the best way I've found to get up close to the plants, animals, and landscapes that I've always admired at a distance.
  • Watching baseball – Baseball has been a part of my life since early childhood, and it remains my favorite sport to this day.
  • Traveling – I love learning, and I appreciate travel for the tremendous opportunity it provides me to learn so many new things everywhere I go.
